"CLEAN SWEEP!"

In grand Oscar tradition, the opening movie with Billy Crystal was great.

My pick for best dressed this year was Liv Tyler.  I loved her dress.. her hair.. the whole package.  So elegant!  I also thought Nicole Kidman's looked terrific, as usual.  Other honorable mentions are:   Rene Zellweger, we can always depend on her for her timeless elegance. Jennifer Garner, she looked gorgeous in her vintage gown.

I loved Johnny Depp in a tux.. but then.. He was always great in whatever he happened to wear!

I was all set to hear an inappropriate political message from Tim Robbins and was not only pleased that he didn't make one.. he took the opportunity to urge abuse victims to seek help!  Then it was time to hold our breath again when he presented with is politically vocal wife, Susan Sarandon and again, thankfully.. no inappropriate speeches!

Was there any doubt that Finding Nemo would win as best animated picture?  That was such a wonderful film!

We couldn't talk about fashion without mentioning that Alison Kraus was chosen to wear the 2 million dollar shoes!  Sexy and strappy and I'd hock them in a second to pay off my bills!

What can we say about Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.... Tied for most wins, first time a fantasy won best picture, clean sweep this evening!  We can forgive Peter Jackson for being on the worst dessed list.. who cars what he looks like when he can make films like he does!
