These weren't resolutions, as I don't do them.. .however they were some things I wanted to work on and changes I wanted to make... let's see how I did.
1. Eat healthier.
What I originally Said: We do a lot of fast food/junk food type meals. I get lazy when I get home from work, so I love frozen stuff or things I can pop in the microwave or oven with no prep time involved. I'm also a carb addict (LOVE potatoes, chips, etc.) So we are going to try to change our eating lifestyle by starting the South Beach Diet to retrain our bodies and teach us a healthier way to eat!
How I did: A+++++ I am SUCH a healthier eater now! On January 16th, 2004 we started the South Beach Diet in order to retrain our eating habits. Well.. I'm here to report, if you stick to it... IT WORKS! I do allow myself a few treats on occasion.. but they are rare and I understand they are treats and not healthy food choices! In addition to eating healthier.. in February I also adopted a healthier lifestyle that includes working out. Then, to add to my healthier lifestyle even more.. In June I took up cycling! I logged over 2800 miles in the 6 months of 2004 that I had my roadbike. (I have a goal of at least 5000 miles for 2005)
2. Be more patient and don't stress over silly stuff.
What I originally Said: I need to be less hyper!
How I did: F I'm still hyper and I still stress (over stupid things).
3. Continue to Redecorate.
What I originally Said: We want to tile the kitchen and bathrooms then get new carpet in the living room, hallway, and our bedroom. Some paint, crown moulding and new baseboards would get done at that time. And of course paint. New living room furniture would be nice too.. but that's stretching it this year, I'm sure. (We also need to get the closet doors for the TV room we did last year!)
How I did: F Our interests shifted to cycling. Well.. mine did.. hubby was already into cycling. A lot of our extra time and money that would have spent on redecorating went toward my bike, shoes, helmet, cycling clothes, cycling clothes, cycling clothes (you get the picture), and all sorts of other cycling gear! Yes... hubby got stuff too! Just not a new bike for him.
4. Spend less time on the Computer.
What I originally Said:*GASP* did I really say that? I do spend too much time. I mean I have the best, newest TV in the house in the computer room! The PVR is in there! That way I can just surf around aimlessly like I like to do while watching my soaps or whatever other shows I like!
How I did: C+ I actually have spent less time on the computer.. but not really by choice. Mostly cuz I spent a LOT of time on the bike. So all the hours I may have been on here.. I was out on the road. I also "lost" time on the computer cuz I started going to bed so early cuz I had to get up at 4:30 to workout before work.
5. Stop Procrastinating.
What I originally Said:I already see the failure of this one! *sigh* I'm forever putting stuff off for a few minutes, few hours, til tomorrow. Then I get back-logged, which makes it so hard to catch up!
How I did: F I still put stuff off and procrastinate... I think I'm hopeless! (Look how long it took me to get this posted!)
